New Muscle Discovered! (pg. 187 article)
In 1995, two dentists discovered a previously unidentified muscle(sphenomandibularis) in their cadaver dissection.

Clinical Connection: Polio (pg. 197)
With the ever present thought of H1N1 looming in our minds, we read about another virus that was a major threat to children in the 1940's & 50's. Luckily a vaccine was created to help individuals fight off the virus. Although polio is not discussed much today, it is still a threat to people without access to the vaccine. Sometimes vaccines aren't the only answer. Viruses are resilient & mutate at alarming rates in order to survive. Although the WHO intended to eradicate the polio virus by 2000, this virus has made another surge. This article also illudes to a darker side of virology...politics.
